Megan (she/they)
I started Queer Yoga Edinburgh as I wanted to connect with this community and be a part of making yoga more accessible. My personal yoga journey has given me the tools to regulate my nervous system and inhabit space more confidently. I’ve felt empowered and supported massively through my experience of learning yoga philosophy. I have trained with Yoga Union and Edinburgh Community Yoga.
In my classes, there is no expectation on how you show up, everything and everyone is welcome. I mostly teach a gentle flowing style of yoga, based on Vinyasa but I also love leading restorative yoga sessions and holding retreats. I like teaching both mat based or chair based yoga and enjoy supporting varying abilities and mobilities with a trauma-informed approach. I hope to empower you to find your own embodiment practice, to feel into how you want to move and breathe - following what feels right for you in the present moment. I’ve learned so much from this group and I’m very grateful to be a part of this queer yoga community where we celebrate our uniqueness, our similarities and our differences. I’m usually at The Salisbury Centre on Friday mornings.

Clemmie (she/her)
Hi! I'm Clemmie, my pronouns are she/her and I've been teaching with the wonderful Queer Yoga community since November last year.
I qualified from my 300hr Vinyasa flow teacher training back in 2020 and I completed a trauma informed training in Sept this year with Edinburgh Community Yoga. I moved up to Edinburgh from Cornwall two years ago and it was one of the best decisions I ever made! I feel very grateful and lucky to have found this community for many reasons, but the main one being it allows me to teach yoga in a way that I believe in. It allows me to be part of a community which together all create an accessible, welcoming and warm space for people that need it. And it's a real pleasure to be a part of that.
From my teaching you can expect a general sequence structure of breath work, warming up the body, running through some standing poses, and then cooling down with gentle movement and ending in some restorative rest. I always aim to offer alternatives to the postures and I encourage you show up as you are, with no expectation, pressure or judgement. All are welcome.
I teach on alternate Wednesdays and some Fridays at Lila yoga so I look forward to seeing you all then!

Annabel (they/them)
I was drawn to a consistent yoga practice as a way to reconnect with my breath and body after long work days at a corporate desk job. After practising a variety of styles and with multiple teachers since 2016, I took my 200 hour Vinyasa teacher training at East Side Yoga in 2022 to both deepen my knowledge and gain the skills and confidence to share this practice with others.
I'm a strong believer in the benefits of movement and breathwork for every mind and body, and hope to create space in my classes where all identities feel safe to experience these. My teaching aims to inspire students to move intuitively and intentionally, listening to what their minds and bodies need in that moment; that often looks like lots of options to adjust the intensity of your experience, time and space to breathe and add your own movement to a pose, and clear anatomy-based cues.
It's a privilege and genuine joy to work with Queer Yoga Edinburgh and have the chance to lead a room of queer folk through a practice that celebrates and accepts ourselves however we show up that day. I hope to see you in class soon!

Gillian (she/her)
I am a queer, fat, yoga teacher with 285hrs of training and seven years of experience working with beginners, seniors, and people in bigger bodies.
I’m passionate about making yoga accessible to everyone regardless of gender, age, ability, body shape or size.
I aim to provide a space where all bodies are celebrated and respected and to be particularly supportive for folks in bigger bodies. My classes provide a safe and supportive environment to explore joyful movement with no judgement or expectation to ‘keep up’. My approach is trauma informed and anti diet.

Jordan (he/they)
I am originally from Liverpool, UK and I now live a nomadic lifestyle teaching yoga and performing music. After many years of teaching different styles of Yoga, I have a newly found passion for teaching Queer Yoga classes, as well as Partner Yoga and Yoga massage. I also have a passion for meditation and sound, and I am always seeking new and creative ways to assist in the connection between body and mind.

Ruth (she/her)
I am a yoga teacher with over 200 hours of Hatha Yoga teacher training and over 120 hours of Pre-natal and Post-natal yoga teacher training. I have been practicing yoga for over 10 years after a serious illness, and have been teaching since 2023. I offer a range of vinyasa, yin and pregnancy yoga classes across various gyms and studios in Edinburgh, with a focus on the mind-body-breath connection . I love being part of the incredible Queer Yoga Edinburgh community, where I lead gentle (but energising) all-levels flow and restore classes at Lila Yoga, and I make a mean cup of tea afterwards.

Lucy (she/her/hers)
I was first introduced to yoga in my early 20's and since then the ritual of my practice has been core to finding grounding and balance when I’ve needed it most. I also work as an Occupational Therapist in mental health services. I decided to train as a yoga teacher due to seeing the value the practice had for my own mental health and my wish to be able to share this with others. I am interested in bringing communities together through yoga. I love to teach with a focus on compassionate and mindful embodiment through gentle movement and connection to the breath. I first came along to the Queer Yoga Lila classes as a student and quickly felt at ease in the space. I hugely value being part of the Queer Yoga Edinburgh community and being able to contribute to it through my teaching.

Nikhita (they/them)
My practice is deeply rooted in my Indian heritage, based primarily on Indian classical dance, but also draws heavily from bellydance (or raqs sharqi) and burlesque. It is also influenced by my studies of martial arts and the spiritual practices of yoga and tantra. My work allows me to express myself and helps me connect physically, mentally, emotionally and spiritually with myself, my audience and my community. I hope that infusing the movement vocabulary of classical dance styles with the sensuality and earthiness of bellydance and burlesque will help to inspire and liberate femmes, the LGBTQ community and the South Asian community at home and abroad, and I hope to bring the history, theory and philosophy of yoga through my lessons and community work as well.

Sandie (she/her)
I am Sandie and my pronouns are she/her. My journey with yoga started in 2015 when I joined an Ashtanga class with a friend. A few months later, I stumbled into a Vinyasa flow class and a lot clicked for me.
I had never considered myself the sporty type and yoga gave me the opportunity to first exercise my body in a way I did not know was possible, but also to learn how to listen to what was going on for me internally.
It was a very transformative experience and I decided to complete my YTT in 2019. I am now furthering my practice by training in Yin yoga.
I am ever so grateful for what yoga is offering me and I really hope I can support the people practicing with me to enjoy similar experiences, such as listening to their body but also their mind, with kindness and acceptance. -
Adriana (she/they)
My journey with yoga and meditation started over 12 years ago and has since transformed my mental and physical health, leading to greater awareness and personal growth. This profound impact inspired me to train as a yoga and meditation teacher, so that I could share these ancient practices for the benefit of all beings.
I have completed 200 hours in Ashtanga and Vinyasa styles and 50 hours Yin Yoga teacher training. I am also a certified meditation instructor with 200 hours of trauma-informed training. You can read more about me at www.cosmicpathyogamediation.online
It is a great honour to be a part of "Queer Yoga" and serve my community here in Edinburgh. My mission is to cultivate spaces of connection, acceptance, and empowerment, where everyone can explore and embrace their unique journey.
See You on the Mat!
